Dr. Tim Herre

Dedicated to
Leawood Smiles
Dr. Tim Herre has a long-standing commitment to the highest standards of general, cosmetic, and reconstructive dentistry. His devotion to his profession is seen in his passion for treating his patients and furthering his own education. Dr. Tim joined his dad, Craig Herre, DDS, in the practice of dentistry upon graduation from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 2008. Dr. Tim grew up in Leawood, Kansas and is no stranger to the family practice. It was an easy decision to join the family dental practice started by his grandfather, Dr. Bill Herre, in 1953.
After graduating from St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Dr. Tim attended Loyola University of Chicago, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
As a biologic and systems-focused dentist, Dr. Tim believes that the goal of treatment is to maintain a healthy, optimally functioning chewing system that is supported by, and in turn supports, a healthy airway. He believes that a healthy airway and a healthy mouth with stable jaw joints and harmonious occlusion are imperative to overall health.
His passion is helping guide people to total body wellness. He wants every patient to thrive and be the best versions of themselves. His philosophy is to diagnose the underlying cause of disease or dysfunction and then work to get the body back to its optimal, natural state. Healthcare today is bogged down by just managing disease and not focusing on true wellness care. By acting as your advocate, Dr. Tim believes his job is to listen and work with you to help you choose your best path to health. The golden rule is the truth – ‘Treat others how you want to be treated!’
With a wellness mindset, Dr. Tim has furthered his education focusing on treating TMJ issues, breathing/sleep issues, orthodontic concerns with Invisalign, and screening children for proper growth and development. He graduated from the OBI Foundation for Bioesthetic Dentistry, The Stewart Center for Minimally Invasive Dental Medicine, and is pursuing a Diplomate in the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. He has extensive training in Invisalign clear aligner orthodontics and Cerec one visit dentistry for treatment such as crowns.

His memberships include:
American Dental Association
Kansas Dental Association
Fifth District Dental Society
Academy of General Dentistry
American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine
International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology
Psi Omega Dental Fraternity
Outside of the office setting, Dr. Tim loves cycling, fitness, live music and traveling to experience all the world has to offer. He is passionate about Kansas City, the local sports teams and most importantly KU basketball. He and his wife Margaret have two of the best good boys, Labradors named Dunkin and Clyde.
